Love them or hate them, when worn with slim fitting trousers i think they look great. Personally, it took me quite a while to get my head round them, initially not particularly being fond, but i've seen so many examples now that i think when worn right they can look amazing. My personal preference would be to wear them as casuals in brown leather or suede and i'd probably spare them from the office.
These examples by John Lobb are just exceptional. Maybe one day...
