Persol

In Turin, 1917, Giuseppe Ratti founded Persol. His idea was to produce technically advanced glasses for pilots and racing car drivers to help provide optimum vision in extreme situations.

The name "Persol" derives from the Italian "per il sole" which translates as "for the sun".

Persol have been at the forefront in the production of technically advanced sunglasses for almost a century and as a result can be relied upon to produce not only stylish eyewear but glasses, which will deliver crystal clear vision and of excellent quality.

Persol continue to innovate and supply lenses for the toughest of environments and have recently taken part in supplying for several expeditions, testing their lenses from deserts to high altitude mountains.

Wearing sunglasses:
  • They should be exactly as wide as your face
  • The tops should just cover part of your eyebrows, but not all of them
  • Lenses should be black, grey or amber
  • Round frames for square faces
  • Rectangular frames for round faces
  • Sunglasses are not only just for wearing when the sun is out, they can be worn to create an element of mysteriousnesses and can create a rather flattering appearance
  • Always keep your sunglasses in a hard case when not in use to protect the frames and lenses from getting scratched. Good glasses just give you years of service if well looked after
  • Opt for a timeless design which won't go out of fashion
