Abbey Horn Clothes Brushes

With their roots in horn shaping dating back to 1749, Abbey Horn of Kendal have a rich pedigree in the art of crafting horn and as such, they were the perfect choice for me when choosing a clothes brush.

The brush itself is of high quality and the bristles of soft-medium stiffness, enabling it to be used on fine wools/cashmere and cotton. The brush is then backed in beautiful polished Ox horn, which I chose to have engraved courtesy of Abbey Horn. The horn is sourced naturally, meaning the pattern is completely unique and no two brush will ever be the same. You also have the choice of light, medium or dark colour preferences, catering for personal tastes. I opted for the dark, which is illustrated in the pictures below.

Roberts Radio

In 1932 Harry Roberts, founded the Roberts Radio Company in partnership with Leslie Bidmead, and they quickly established an excellent reputation for their high-quality portables. Financed entirely from earnings, the Company's growth has been steady rather than spectacular.

This delightful model from Roberts, built in wood and then lined, has kept its classic look since inception in the 1950's and still looks utterly fantastic. As it's also available in a variety of different colours, it's sure to brighten up any room. My choice would be the British Racing Green option, although Piano Black is rather dashing.

Great Books - To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Without a doubt, one of the greatest books ever written.

A novel by author Harper Lee and published in 1960. It was instantly successful, winning the prestigious Pulitzer Price and has become a modern classic.

I'll be honest, I've only just got round to reading this, and what prompted me was seeing this absolutely wonderful hard backed 50th Special Anniversary Edition, which is absolutely stunning on my book shelf and just amazing when you hold it in your hand.

Just look how esquisite the cover and the fly leaf are. This is definitely a book to buy and keep.

The best price I could find it for was off Amazon, NEW for £12.50! The same book is £19 on the high street!
